CHAGALL - VO PACKET
PBX ON A SINGLE CHIP!
MINDSPEED Technologies introduces the industry's first single chip PBX for
enterprise and residential telephony equipment.
The Chagall M825xx silicon PBX (SiPBX) enables the design of low-cost, high-quality and
high-security packet voice systems. The new device integrates signaling, encryption,
packet processing and signal processing functions, and it handles up to 64 channels of
highly compressed packet voice on a single chip. The device's bundled software, developed
and tested to carrier class standards, provides the full range of wireline voice codecs:
G.711, G.723, G.726 and G.729.

Technical Details
ATMEL's M825xx SiPBX products combine a fifth-generation DSP core soft encryption engine,
ARM-based programmable packet processors and a user-programmable embedded host controller.
The embedded host is 100 percent available for user applications and signaling, and it can
support a wide variety of telephony and packet signaling protocols, including SIP, H.323
and H.248. The voice processing system runs up to 64 channels of G.7xx codecs and echo
cancellation, supporting packet-to-TDM, packet-to-packet, and TDM-to-TDM operation for up
to 512 subscriber lines. The software package includes fax protocols, such as T.38.
The Chagall M825xx SiPBX has been optimized for a variety of telecommunications
applications, including voice and media gateways, IADs, IP routers and IP PBX systems, to
mention just a few.
