MIRO - FOR VOICE TRANSPORT NETWORKS. IT'S ALL ON ONE CHIP!
This high-density integrated DSP and packet processor solution delivers transparent voice services between TDM and packet switched networks.
MINDSPEED introduces the Miro M82610, the first in a family of communications convergence processors that offer telecommunications equipment manufacturers a simple and cost-effective solution for designing one system capable of transporting multiple media types across both wireless and wireline networks.
The Miro combines a fifth-generation DSP core and a programmable packet processor to provide the power and flexibility to bridge TDM and packet based voice networks. The M82610 furthermore supports MINDSPEED's patented intelligent speech transcoding technology to minimize delay time between multiple wireless and wireline protocols, thereby enabling carrier-class voice services over packet-based networks.
Utilizing streaming packet interfaces to handle both complete IP packets and ATM cells, the Miro convergence processor incorporates MINDSPEED's field-proven echo canceller. It furthermore runs a complete suite of wireless speech-compression algorithms for both GSM and CDMA interface standards, and for fax (FoIP) and modem (MoIP) data.
With the ability to process up to 480 simultaneous carrier-class voice channels, the Miro convergence processor offers the highest available channel density per mm˛ in a 19mm FPBGA package.

The new family is optimized for use in a variety of telecommunications equipment, including voice and media gateways, wireless base stations, DSLAMs, IADs, IP routers, IP PBX systems, and many more.
Technical Details The Miro M82610 consists of advanced, high-quality DSP cores and packet processors, and also incorporates interfaces for UTOPIA, packet over SONET or POS, and Ethernet. Using an advanced parallel-processing architecture, the DSP cores process the following codecs: G.711, G.722, G.723.1, G.726, G.728, G.729, QCELP8K, QCELP13K, EVRC, SMV, GSM FR/EFR, AMR, T.38 Fax Relay and Modem Relay.
The packet processor is optimized to support VoIP and ATM (AAL1, AAL2 and AAL5) protocols. Using any of the packet or TDM interfaces, the Miro supports packet-to-packet, packet-to-TDM, TDM-to-packet or TDM-to-TDM operations between various protocols and modulations.
