By acquiring MEGGITT Electronics Components Ltd. ( MEC ) in late 2001, TYCO was able to vastly expand its resistor product portfolio, particularly for standard, precision and power resistors, while adding several new sensor products as well. TYCO products are sold under various established trade names in addition to the TYCO Electronics name, including HOLSWORTHY, CGS, SIGMA, NEOHM and MINIREEL. Target applications for the new products are primarily within the electronics, measurement, medical and automotive industries.
