TYCO: SECURITY
FOR THOSE WHO PUT SECURITY FIRST, TYCO's CITEC 17P SERIES OF HIGH VOLTAGE PROOF POTENTIOMETERS DELIVER THE SOLUTION.
With a minimum insulation resistance of 4 Gigaohms and a peak dielectric strength of 1kVAC, the Citec 17P type potentiometer from TYCO Electronics offers the ideal solution for household devices and control systems - especially when circuit security is the prime consideration.

All materials used in their construction (plastic housing, plastic shaft, etc.) are UL-certified.
Resistance values range from K to 1M, linear, and 47K to 470K, non-linear. The potentiometer features a small-profile design, a polymer thick-film element, dual coils and high operational security characteristics, and it is flame-resistant as well. A choice of rotational or push-button switch can be mounted on the potentiometer backside to add an on-off capability, with the following switching power ratings offered: 1A at 24VDC, 10A at 12VDC and 10A at 250VAC.
Dissipation at 20° Celsius is specified at 0.25W (linear) and 0.125W (non-linear). The electrical turn radius is 267 degrees (without switch) and 232 degrees (with switch), excess noise ratio (ENR) is 2% max. (linear) and 3% max. (non-linear). The Citec 17P furthermore offers the security of 4 Gigaohms min. insulation resistance and a peak dielectric strength of 1kVAC. Mechanically, these potentiometers are just as formidable, with an operating life of more than 10,000 cycles!
