New PCs are typically equipped with 4 or more USB interfaces, making it the most fashionable standard on the market. Lately, however, USB interfaces have moved beyond printers, mice and other peripheral devices, as they increasingly appear in mobile and handheld devices as well.

PHIHONG's new PSC03R-050 adapter comes with several universal technology features in one convenient device. The interchangeable mains plug system, which is the same as used in PHIHONG's PSAxxR series, allows worldwide use and eliminates the need for a second cable (by using a single USB port for both data and power). Most standard international cables fit the adapter, which interfaces with the USB port to provide a simple "plug and play" power solution.
Potential uses for the adapter are as flexible as the device itself: handheld card readers, palm devices, cellular phones, MPEG players, and that's just the beginning.
The voltage available from the PSC03R-050 is usually enough to charge accumulators, so many OEM applications will be able to do without a separate charging interface altogether, and that saves space and reduces costs! With respect to device security, the adapter meets the USB standard requirement of 5VDC@500mA. In case of a fault or short, the adapter's protection limits current to .75A and voltage to 12 VDC.
Standby power consumption is a low 0.3 W (ECOC 2005/Phase 3), making the PSC03R-050 the newest member of PHIHONG's GREEN POWER lineup.
