COAX ALTERNATIVE: HIGH-SPEED CONNECTOR SYSTEM
YAMAICHI ELETRONICS HAS INTRODUCED A NEW GENERATION OF HIGH-SPEED CONNECTORS AND CABLES.
The non-ZIF HF series of connectors in combination with the special YFB series of YFLEX cables enables connections with transmission speeds of up to 1.1Gbps to be realized without the need for elaborate and cost-intensive cable assembly!
The HF series features a compact design that includes a push-lock mechanism for securely locking the flexprint in place. The special YFLEX flexible board is based on LCP insulation and has been adapted to the connector to ensure an integrated concept.
Thanks to YAMAICHI's special YFLEX technology, excellent high-frequency data transfer rates can be achieved and absolutely fine structures are feasible.

Different standard cable lengths and layouts are available, but customer-specific flex layouts and lengths can be easily integrated on request. The complete system consisting of the HF connector and the YFLEX guarantees brilliant crosstalk and EMC characteristics, and an impedance of 100Ohms (differential pair). The performance of the system with 1.1Gbps has been proven in the respective eye diagrams.
The connectors are designed for reflow soldering and pick-and-place mounting from the tape and reel packaging. With the introduction of the new HF503 series, YAMAICHI continues to rigorously expand the existing range. As a result, an entire family of connector products is now available for use in high speed applications.
* HF501 + YFB03: 38 contacts / 0.5mm pitch
* HF502 + YFB07: 20 contacts / 0.6mm pitch
* HF503 + YFB10: 32 and 60 contacts / 0.5mm pitch
These connector systems especially target LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) applications. Examples of typical applications include HF test equipment, base stations, networks, digital TV, set-top boxes and medical displays:
