However, when it comes to color displays, the many diverse customer-specific solutions
that are manufactured (a factor driven by the mobile phone and consumer industries) has
led to a lack of standardized designs and sizes, especially for smaller to medium screen
diagonals of <6".
But CODICO has now come to the rescue, starting with its offering of 5.7" CSTN
displays. Depending on your application needs, we offer two mechanical versions to choose
from, each of them compatible with the designs of other manufacturers. So, you can rest at
ease, because your second source option is assured!

Due to overall size considerations,
CCFL backlighting is primarily used with a screen diagonal of 5.7", which means it is
wise to use such displays only within the specified operating temperature range of 0°C to
50°C.
The reason: since each CCFL backlight starting sequence (start voltage > 1000V) in a
sub-freezing temperature environment drastically reduces the operating life of the CCFL
tube, and the tube rapidly begins to show signs of failure.
CODICO has the solution here as well: We offer a 5.7" version with a bright white LED
backlight that will extend the ideal operating temperature into the sub-freezing range,
specifically from -20°C to +70°C.
Of course, CODICO also offers numerous options for these displays, such as matching touch
panels, CCFL inverters and interface connectors.
