MULTITECH has launched the smallest ever embedded modem
onto the market
Ever since the industry first began searching for increasingly smaller components and modules, manufacturers and suppliers have tried to keep pace with the trend. This also holds true for data transmission equipment targeting remote maintenance systems. Because manufacturer end-devices continue to shrink in size, the search for even smaller data transmission solutions continues. With respect to fixed telephone network applications in particular, modules remain comparatively large, and they continue to require additional circuitry to enable fixed network transmission.

Today and in fact since mid-2005 MULTITECH is the only manufacturer to offer a complete and printable modem that is barely higher and wider than the jack of an RJ11 connector. With overall dimensions of 18mm x 19.2mm x 64mm and a total weight of only 20g, it is still the smallest and lightest modem with integrated RJ11 connector on the market.
The compact MULTITECH RJ Modem integrates the controller, data pump and data access arrangement device. It supports the V.92, V.34 and V.32bis standards but can also be used for slower transmission processes down to 300bps and lower. The modem is available in 3.3V and 5V versions, thus suiting a variety of different applications.
The RJModem has already been approved for use as a telecom product in over 50 countries worldwide, thus significantly reducing the approval costs in these countries for the end devices that it is used in. The modem is available in series production quantities.
