100/150-WATT ALL-INCLUSIVE POWER PACKAGE ON 3" x 5" FOOTPRINT
Both slogans now fit a single name in the power supply sector: The "TLP150" courtesy of ARTESYN.
This new family of power supplies is available with optional add-on functionality for:
applications requiring standby operation, redundant systems, fan-cooled and medical applications OR nothing but raw 100-Watt power under convection cooling or 150 Watts with 200 LFM forced air all on what is probably Europe's most popular power supply footprint, namely a slimmed down 3" x 5" (equating to 12.7cm x 7.6cm x 3.12cm).
The TLP150 family of power supplies offers a wide universal input range and is the ideal front-end solution. It comes with a choice of 12V, 24V or 48V on the output side and suits limited space applications just as well as uses where thermal balance must be taken to its limits.
For example, efficiency at full load reaches 84% for a 230VAC input and 81% for 110VAC.
Of course, the TLP150 also features all the extra functionality one might expect from a front-end solution, including input "AC power fail" and output "DC power fail" signaling, remote sensing to compensate for voltage losses in the event that longer output lines are used, and the ability to adjust voltage to +/-10% via potentiometer.

For designs drawing more than 100 Watts or requiring better temperature performance inside the device, a cooling fan of choice can be connected to the integrated 12V@500mA auxiliary output.
We can arrange all-inclusive packages with the following standard options available ex factory:
=> For N+1 redundant applications, democratic load sharing and integrated Or-ing diodes for decoupling.
=> For applications with standby operation, we can supply the "option F," to include an always-on 5V/1A auxiliary output and remote on/off contact for remotely controlling the main and fan outputs. This option is ideal for applications in which idle losses are an issue.
=> For devices used in medical applications, all of these functions are equally available in a version certified according to VDE EN60601-1 and UL/cUL2601-1.
It has a rated leakage current of 150uA and conforms to the line emission limits set forth by the more rigorous EN55022 "B" standard, while of course also upholding the required 4000VAC insulation as well as the corresponding air and creepage distances.
