1-, 2-, AND 3-WATT SMD POWER RESISTORS FROM TYCO
TYCO ELECTRONICS has introduced a new family of surface-mount power resistors rated for up to 3W, which enable manufacturers to lower production costs.
The new SM series offers versions with load ratings of 1W, 2W and 3W in the resistance range from R10 to 2M0. The temperature coefficient measures 200 or 100ppm, depending on the model.
Compared to conventional wire-lead resistors with identical load ratings, the new TYCO products take up far less board space. Many customers who currently use 2- or 3-watt resistors with ceramic housings may thus be able to significantly reduce costs.
With their completely sealed housing, the products are ideally suited for automated SMD mounting. The resistors are available in all values of the E24 resistance range with either 1% or 5% tolerance.
