NEW CONNECTION TECHNOLOGY FOR FIBER OPTICS IN IP67 DESIGN MATURE FOR SERIES PRODUCTION!
Industrial Ethernet interconnectivity between end devices can now be implemented on the machine level using fiber optic cables protected according to IP67
SOURIAU S.A.S, Versailles, has introduced the microFX product family of highly compact, 2-pin IP67 connector solutions for multi-mode fiber optic applications. The new system solution supports field assembly by the user, or can be delivered ex factory as fully assembled connecting cables in a variety of standard lengths. Through use of an M12 housing and a connecting technology that incorporates optical LC ferrules, the new connector system offers a level of miniaturization that is on par with electrical cabling solutions.

The optical contacts can be assembled with all common fiber types, such as glass, HCS or PMMA, and they meet both multi-mode and single-mode requirements. The typical transmission insertion loss for glass fiber applications is 0.3dB.
The new microFX family is supplemented by cable couplers and thru-wall adapters. In addition, SOURIAU has introduced an M12 receptacle housing that integrates a new miniature transceiver comprising the necessary elements for problem-free, bidirectional data transmission at rates up to 100Mbps in multi-mode, at 1300nm, as well as the required diagnostics.
Additionally available are hybrid connector variants and their matching cables which are equipped with 2 optical and 2 copper wire connections the latter for power transmission. This hybrid version is offered especially with plastic fiber for short-range links.
The microFX solution has been developed as a joint initiative of SOURIAU, Hirschmann Automation and Control, and Harting Electric. The three companies are marketing the solution independently of each other under the same, protected name.
