ASTRODYNE: LOW POWER
...TRY IT FILTERLESS
....available in PCB- or chassis-mount designs, or as open-card modules with connectors.
Among ASTRODYNE's specialties are its 5W-15W power supplies in miniature designs. After seeing the new product families, one might think that some of the latest types are barely distinguishable from their predecessors. So, why are they called redesigned?
The difference is that ASTRODYNE has set it as a goal to make its power devices electromagnetically compatible, even for these miniature sizes. As a result, they remain within the required 4dB of the set limits to ensure use in the end application without having to add an extra filter. The new series is offered in a variety of sizes and versions - with the 5W version offering the option of an open-card design. This includes:
A.) as a vertically standing board with SIL pins standing in a row, to ensure a minimal required surface area - ideal for PCB mounting!
B.) as a low-profile (height) board-mounted module in a horizontal design
C.) as a module with connectors In addition, this technology is available as a molded, encapsulated module for board mounting, or with screw terminals for chassis-mounting - e.g., to a housing wall.
These ASTRODYNE power supplies are internationally certified according to the CB scheme - IEC60950 (industrial) and IEC60601 for medical technology that does not come into physical contact with the patient.

The wide input range of 85VAC-264VAC (47Hz-440Hz) supplies one to three outputs ranging from 3.3V to 24V. The multiple voltage versions deliver a 5V output combined with either 12V or 15V. Three power classes - 5W / 10W / 15W - are available, thus letting designers optimize the overall efficiency and smallest possible device size according to their specifications. Soon, double and triple output 15W versions offering 3.3V and 12V, and 3.3V, 5V and 12V, respectively, will also be available.
The available versions differ as follows: The single-voltage devices of the PWC family (5 and 10W) occupy a surface area of 1" x 2" for the horizontally mounted versions, or 2" x 0.5" (5W only) for the vertically mounted versions with SIL pins.
The multiple-voltage versions of the E Series occupy a footprint of 1.7" x 2.3" (5W), 1.8" x 2.6" (10W) and 1.9" x 2.8" (15W). In addition, CODICO also supplies ASTRODYNE's AS Series of open-card devices with connectors. These occupy a surface area of 2" x 3" (15W version) and 2" x 4" (60W version).
