The flattest available design ever!
Munich, February 2007 - YAMAICHI has supplemented its range of microSD card connectors with the PJS008-2100-* in a super low profile design (microSD was previously called the TransFlash card format). The new addition makes a top-mount version available in the microSD format for SMT mounting on the top side of the PCB assembly.

An existing low-profile model - the PJS008-2000-*, with a mounted height of only 1.85 mm - is also currently available. The latter is a reversed type version, i.e., for assembly on the bottom side of the PCB.
Both models are fitted with a tried-and -tested push/push insert that is state of the art, including eject mechanics developed by Yamaichi. Additional features are a mechanism that prevents inserting the card on the wrong side, a card retention mechanism and a switch for automatic card recognition.
The super low profile PJS008-2100-* is in series production and immediately available in large quantities. It is packaged in tape & reel for fully automated pick-and-place assembly.
