ANCHOR`S AWEIGH! A NEW OFFICE BUILDING FOR CODICO!
On February 27, 2007, CODICO - headquartered in Perchtoldsdorf (near Vienna, Austria) - celebrated the topping out ceremony for our new office building and logistics center. Lead architect for the project is Andreas Hawlik of the firm (aha), who spent several years in Berlin as an associate architect with collignonfischötter, where he shared responsibility for erecting Berlin's City Light House, among other assignments.
The groundbreaking took place in August 2006, and the floor plate ceremony on September 29, 2006, was celebrated in the presence of former Austrian Federal Chancellor Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel. The building's structural shell was completed in only 4 months time, thanks to the favorable weather, and the façade has since been closed and the roof sealed.

The unusual shape for an office building was chosen to accommodate the space-saving logistics concept. As a result, trucks will not have to reverse on the narrow lot, which also leaves room for a green area with a water basin near the building entry. Landscape planning was tasked out to hutterreimann (Berlin).
A unique feature of the building is the 10x10m grid arrangement for spanning the flat slabs, and is achieved by using the "cobiax" system. The ventilation lines have also been integrated within the bare ceiling, between the cobiax elements. The civil engineering firm RWT+ (Dr. Woschitz) was entrusted with planning the structural framework.
The building is planned for completion in June 2007.
