MURATA MULTILAYER CHIP COILS ENABLE BOARD SPACE SAVING OF 44%!
The new LQM2HP multilayer chip coil series measures a mere 2.5mm x 2.0mm x 1.1mm (size 1008 package). Also referred to as power inductors, the devices use MURATA's proprietary ceramic materials and feature an innovative inner electrode design.
Their compact size enables board space savings of up to 44% compared to wirewound coils, with no performance degradation. Targeting primarily DC-DC converter circuits, the new chip coils support miniaturization in power supplies, while at the same time delivering the best possible performance.

The magnetically shielded LQM2HP series offers chip coils with inductance values from 0.47uH to 4.7uH and current ratings of up to 1.8A. The low DC resistance values - between 0.04ohms and 0.12ohms (depending on the model) - help minimize losses and improve efficiency in the application.
