STN LCDs: BLUE/NEGATIVE WITH WHITE LED
The display mode of STN (Super Twisted Nematic) LCDs is defined by the display's background coloration. There are two STN LCD mode types: Yellow and Mode STN.

Yellow Mode STN LCDs:
This mode exhibits dark blue pixels on a yellow-green background. The yellow mode provides the highest contrast for reflective and transflective LCDs.
Blue Mode STN LCDs:
This mode exhibits transparent pixels on a dark blue background. This mode can only be achieved with transmissive LCDs, in conjunction with some form of backlighting (very high contrast).
Due to their extremely high contrast, blue mode STN displays with a white LED backlight are currently very much in demand. Unfortunately, the availability of standard products to match has been lagging. At CODICO, our line-up includes products from several different manufacturers, including both alpha-numeric and graphic modules in the transmissive/negative blue mode with white LED backlight. We offer standard blue mode display products starting from 16x2 characters, small-format graphic displays, e.g., 128x64, and even large QVGA modules with 320x240 pixels.
If you would like more detailed information, or need help in choosing the right display for your application, please don't hesitate to give us a call.
