YAMAICHI:
NEW TWEEZER-STYLE TEST SOCKET

YAMAICHI Electronics has launched its new tweezer-style BGA/CSP test socket, with 0.5 mm pitch and an open top design.

The new NP383 series from YAMAICHIi is a high performance socket with tweezer-style contacts, and meets the requirements of the newest BGA/CSP packages having a pitch of only 0.5 mm.

The NP383 series was conceived with lofty design goals, such as extremely high electrical and mechanical reliability, minimal space requirements, the elimination of any "sticking" effect, no changes to the relevant solder ball geometry parameters, etc. All of these technical improvements were fully implemented in the finished design.

Due to the open-top design, the socket is ideally suited for both automatic handling systems and manual insertion processes (with low insertion force).
YAMAICHI Electronics was displaying these, and other, test socket products at Munich's SEMICON, from April 1st through 3rd, 2003.
