100 YEARS OLD AND STILL GOING STRONG!

KRAH-RWI HAS BEEN MANUFACTURING A WIDE VARIETY OF QUALITY POWER RESISTORS FOR DECADES, WITH GREAT SUCCESS. THE COMPANY'S EXTENSIVE KNOW-HOW IS PACKED INTO ITS PRODUCTS FOR THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY AND OTHER INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS.

KRAH-RWI products find use primarily in the manufacture of household, TV, medical, railway and drive equipment. The renowned company offers a comprehensive range of solutions, for example, the wirewound "F" series, which demonstrates KRAH's huge serial variety. A brief look at the F series:

SFD and SFR Resistors

These resistor types are built around a fiberglass cord, which serves as a carrier for the resistance windings. The wire windings are securely connected to the leads via press-on end caps. They are coated with non-flammable silicon, for a temperature rating of over 350°C. The silicon coating also provides surface protection for the resistor. The axial wound SFD versions are available with power ratings of 1-3 Watts. The radial wound SFR models are rated from 2.5 to 8 Watts.

KFD Resistors

This type is identical to the SFD in construction, but has no silicon coating. The resistive elements are enclosed in a ceramic tube whose cross-section is rectangular, for improved heat dissipation and dielectric strength (higher breakdown voltage).
The KFD series can be mounted on a metal chassis without the need for additional insulation.

KBD Resistors

The KBD series is identical in construction to the KFD and is comprised of low ohmic, low-inductance resistors. The design includes a metal band inside the ceramic tube that is welded to the leads, which gives this type its unique properties.

KRX Resistors

The KRX series uses resistive elements inside a ceramic body. Whether mounted on a printed circuit board or assembled using a 6.3-mm flat connector, the KRX series offers many connecting options to fit a variety of different applications. Several different fixing methods are optionally available, including versions with rotation protection, for an extra secure hold.

In its entirety, the F series is suited for a wide variety of applications - from household devices, such as washing machines and electric and microwave ovens, to broadcast and TV equipment, and even frequency converters and drive equipment.

The vast KRAH-RWI product range includes everything from simple wirewound resistors, to versions with integrated meltdown protection, as well as high-performance wire potentiometers. The company also offers customer-tailored solutions for larger quantities.
