TYCO MICROSWITCHES
TYCO ELECTRONICS HAS ADDED MINIATURE AND SUBMINIATURE MICROSWITCHES TO ITS COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF PASSIVE ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS!
TYCO ELECTRONICS microswitches, carrying the ALCOSWITCH brand name, are option-rich to meet a wide variety of applications. Included are board-mount and solder versions, as well as models with spade/tab terminals and pin-plunger types. Other design options include short, normal and long levers, short and normal rollers, and a simulated lever. Amp ratings range from 0.1A to 16A for miniature switches, and up to 5A for the subminiature types. A choice of three switch configurations is available: SPDT (single-pole, double-throw; changeover switch), SPNC (single-pole, normally-closed; opens upon actuation) and SPNO (single-pole, normally-open; closes upon actuation).

The 16A and 5A miniature switches carry UL, CSA and VDE approvals! These versions are specified for use in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 130°C, at a max. relative humidity of 85%. Key performance characteristics include a maximum contact resistance of 15 milliohms and operating speeds ranging from 0.2 to 1000mm/s, with an electrical life of over 100,000 operations. Shock resistance without an actuating lever is specified at 300mm/s (approx. 30G), and vibration resistance without a lever is a rated 1.5mm at 10 to 55Hz (for 2 hours).
Also available is a special miniature version designed for an ultra-low 0.1A, an extended operating temperature range of -30°C to 130°C and an electrical life of over one million operations. All products in the miniature range are rated for a mechanical life of at least 10 million operations.
The subminiature range is designed for 5A, with a maximum contact resistance of 50 milliohms max. These devices are specified for operation in the temperature range -25°C to 85°C. The switches are UL and CSA approved, and also offer extremely high shock and vibration resistance.
