M17 SPEEDTEC: BECAUSE SIZE DOES MATTER!
THE NEW M17 SPEEDTEC CONNECTOR SERIES FROM INTERCONTEC EXPANDS THE COMPANY'S INDUSTRIAL CONNECTOR PRODUCT RANGE, WHILE OPENING NEW POSSIBILITIES FOR DESIGNERS OF DRIVE SYSTEMS AND MOTORS.
The M17 has also found initial use in several applications within industrial measurement equipment construction, and in the medical technology segment. The M17 speedTEC series is specifically designed to meet the more challenging requirements of ultra-compact drives. The principle maximized power combined with minimized component size sounds simple, however it requires a great deal of know-how from the connector manufacturer to implement.

By reducing the component size, INTERCONTEC is keeping in step with the general trend toward miniaturization, and now offers a new solution especially for engineers who wish to solve the complex challenges associated with more compact application designs. What's more, thanks to its modular construction, the M17 speedTEC is optionally available with 17-pole signal contact isolation inserts, or with 4-, 7- or 9-pole power isolation inserts. Such design flexibility, coupled with INTERCONTEC's customary high material quality, provides the user with several key advantages, namely a reduction in the number of individual connector components and optimized assembly times.
Maximum current strength values are 3.6A (63VAC/DC) for the signal versions, 20A for the 4-pole power version and 14A for the 7- and 9-pole versions (630VAC/DC each). The required tests for all approvals were conducted on the M17 speedTEC in advance, in the company's in-house laboratory. Of course, like all INTERCONTEC connector series, the M17 speedTEC series carries all national and international approvals: VDE, UL/CSA and CCC.
