The major advantage of integrating the touch panel controller and related components on the display's board is to do away with messy adaptations, as well as the headaches involved with placing the controller externally.
Also integrated are the SED1335 graphics controller and a DC/DC converter supplying the contrast voltage. The module requires only a 5V single power supply to operate. White LEDs provide optimal backlighting, with a significant improvement in operating life compared to CCFL solutions.
