EVEN BETTER PROTECTION FROM SPLASHING - THE Y-CONRJ45 FROM YAMAICHI IS NOW ALSO CERTIFIED TO IP68 AND IP69K!
The Y-ConRJ45 industrial field bus plug connector system from YAMAICHI Electronics for use in tough environments was previously approved for ambient protection type IP67. Extensive tests in independent laboratories have now also shown that it provides the full ambient protection required for IP68 and IP69K standards.
Under the IP standards the first figure (in this case a 6) stands for dust tight.

The second figure defines the water seal offered by the component. A 7 means that a component will remain sealed if immersed in water to a depth of 1 m, whilst 8 means that it offers protection in critical conditions and the highest protection type 9K means that the seal remains in tact even if a high pressure water or steam jet is directed at the component.
The external temperature resistance of -20°C to +120°C and the high mechanical vibration and impact strength of up to 50g also ensure that the Y-ConRJ45 system provide the enormous strength required for CAT-5 applications of up to 100 Mbps. Together with the water seal pursuant to IP69K it is therefore now also suitable for industrial applications in the toughest conceivable conditions.
Another feature is the possibility of integration two additional contacts for the power supply in the male and female connectors, which is currently unique on the market. When connected they therefore also have IP69K protection. At the same time this also eliminates the need for separate time-consuming and expensive wiring of the power contacts.
