YAMAICHI Electronics has created more components to assist the miniaturization of mobile applications in the fields of wireless communications, portable computers and consumer electronics.

The new FPS009-2700-0 plug connectors for the SD and MMC card has a so-called super low profile design measuring just 2.65 mm and therefore only slightly higher than the SD card itself (2.1 mm).
This "low profile" model sees YAMAICHI Electronics expand its extensive FPS series for SD / MMC cards, which also contains the low size version FPS009-2602 with a design height of just 2.8 mm. This version is available for mounting on the underside of a board (reversed type).
Like the 2602, the super low profile version has several convenient functions, including a frictionless push-in/push-out card connection and disconnection mechanism with a defined ejection point, a soft-lock mechanism for the SD card, new finned contacts to prevent contact breaks, card identification and a write-protection switch.
