SOURIAU IS REBORN!
FCI, ONE OF THE LARGEST MANUFACTURES OF ELECTRICAL AND OPTICAL PLUG CONNECTORS IN THE WORLD AND PART OF THE AREVA GROUP, HAS SOLD ITS MAI DIVISION TO AXA PRIVATE EQUITY
AXA Private Equity and Areva signed a contract for the sale of FCI's MAI (Military/Aeronautics and Industrial) Division on 21 December 2002.
The new company has revived the well-known SOURIAU name, which it bore before being sold to Framatome in 1989. SOURIAU, known as a special for round and rectangular plug connectors, started its business activities in April 2003.
The product portfolio offered by SOURIAU includes the manufacture of high quality standard and bespoke plug connectors. In addition to the traditional products associated with the SOURIAU brand, the new company also manufactures the successful TRIM TRIO series from Burndy and round plug connectors under the Jupiter brand.

SOURIAU has production sites in France, the USA, the Dominican Republic, Morocco, India and Japan. It also has sales offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
SOURIAU leads the European market in the field of plug connectors for industrial, aerospace and defense applications.
In 2002 the company made an estimated global turnover of EUR 155 million with a workforce of 1,200.
At the AIRSHOW in Paris Le Bourget, the largest aerospace even in the world, the rebirth of SOURIAU was celebrated with a gala evening on a boat on the Seine.
