BRAND NEW: SOLID STATE RELAYS FOR PROFESSIONALS
CELDUC HAS INTRODUCED A BRAND NEW, PATENTED SOLID STATE RELAY FAMILY THAT NOT ONLY DELIVERS THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY, BUT AT A COST SAVINGS AS WELL!
Once again, the European manufacturer Celduc, with production facilities in Sorbiers, France, has launched a highly innovative new product family on the market. Thanks to a completely new approach for designing single phase semiconductor relays, CELDUC now stands alone at the forefront of semiconductor manufacturing.
The new SO family wraps optimized, state-of-the-art technology, an attractive design, and cost effectiveness into one package. The innovative technology includes a new, patented cover flap system, which enables ultra fast, flexible handling operations. The SO's optimized construction permits OEMs to reduce production time and, most importantly, costs.
The SO family is a solution that combines the best available technology with superior quality in one powerful package. All SO relays incorporate advanced TMS² technology for an exceptionally long operating life. Output voltage for the family reaches 690VAC (1,600V peak), and the wide, regulated AC and DC input voltage range enables optimal control. The devices are also equipped with an LED indicator for monitoring the input status.
Depending on the version, the new solid state relays permit switching currents ranging from 12A to 125A, at an Itsm(10ms) of up to 2,000A. The typical I²t value extends to 24,000A²s. The SO is thus designed to operate with loads that experience extreme current peaks. In combination with safety cutouts, the relays perform a short circuit protection function. The SO family has been designed to provide very high immunity according to IEC/EN61000-4-4 (bursts) and IEC/EN61000-4-5 (spikes). The rated input-output isolation voltage is 4kV. Of course, the series also has comprehensive approvals: UL/cUL, VDE (EN60950), IEC/EN60947-4-3, and CE marking.
CELDUC's SO relay family is also unique on the market for its specially designed screw connections, which accept cable cross sections of up to 50mm². The versatile design furthermore permits a variety of connection options, to make the SO family a truly universal solution. Faston connectors are also available on request.

Only one screwdriver is required to fasten both the input and output screws, which further simplifies assembly. The IP20 protection flaps are also removable. Depending on the series, plug-in type spring terminals are provided for mating the cable connectors to the solid state relay (SSR) control side.
There are three main series within the SO generation of SSRs: SO9, SO8 and SO7:
The SO9 series has been developed for the optimized control of resistive loads (AC-51).
The SO8 series has been developed for universal applications and includes integrated VDR and IP20 protection flaps. Extremely high EMC immunity and a very low synchronization voltage are other significant advantages. The SO88 versions offer an ultra-high rated peak voltage of 1,600V, and are designed for high voltage and AC-56b capacitive applications. The SOR8 versions are equipped with plug-in type spring terminals for connecting the SSR control side.
The S07 series includes special versions of the new SSR family designed for controlling motors (AC-53) and inductive loads, and also for phase angle control applications.
The SOD series is unique for its integrated diagnostic system, which includes an LED for monitoring control status and a second LED that displays system diagnostics. The diagnostics output functions without an external power supply, while the outputs themselves can be chained.
The brand new SO family belongs to CELDUC's "OKPAC" range of solid state relays for professionals. The products will be shown for the very first time at CODICO's stand at the electronica 2004 trade fair!
The Celduc product range includes a comprehensive lineup of single and 3-phase solid state relays, reed relays and switches, and magnetic proximity sensors. The entire range will be on display at electronic 2004, or contact CODICO for additional information on CELDUC products!
We hope you have a chance to stop by the CODICO electronica stand (A5.507) in Munich! If not, send us your inquiries regarding all CELDUC products any time.
