CONEXANT SYSTEM, INC. HAS ANNOUNCED THE AVAILABILITY OF ITS NEW ADSL2PLUS CHIPSET!
In addition to a 2-channel VoIP processor, the new chipset is equipped with a dual
high-speed USB 2.0 interface that enables peripherals such as WLAN equipment, printers and
Web-based digital cameras to be attached directly to the DSL gateway. What's more, the
CX94515 can be upgraded to VDSL / VDSL2 technology and thus saves development costs by
enabling the use of existing designs when migrating to VDSL.

The highly integrated CX94515 is
almost twice as fast as any competing chip on the market thanks to its ADS2plus
technology.
The new CX94515 primarily targets applications such as DSL bridges / routers, wireless DSL
routers and DSL VoIP IADs. To further increase processing power, additional hardware
engines have been incorporated. These include CONEXANT's PRISM Nitro XM technology, which
significantly increases throughput for 802.11g and 802.11a/g systems, and a security
engine for improved WLAN and VPN processing speeds. The new devices are also equipped with
two 10/100 Ethernet ports that enable combined Ethernet and HomePlug or HomePNA
connectivity. These integrated dual USB 2.0 ports eliminate the need for a bulky
peripheral component interface (PCI), thus reducing overall system cost and board size!
The CX94515 can be operated under Linux or CONEXANT's own ISOS operating system ISOS
supports the DSLHome initiative of the DSL Forum. Initial samples will become available
toward the end of 2005 and full-scale production quantities are planned by the end of
March 2006.
