EOS products have made a name for themselves as the to date only miniaturized power supply
solutions for desktop applications to exclusively use high-end and resonant converter
topologies for the range to 150 Watts. As a result, these ultra small-packaged devices
achieve efficiencies of over 90%, to assure cool components à la "elcap &
Co," as well as the longest lifetime of any EOS desktop power supply. As if that
weren't enough, EOS has packed an added bonus into the newest members of its LVC family of
power converters: a technology that makes this performance affordable for lower budgets!

The new devices are based on a flyback
technology and deliver slightly less power than their counterparts in the
"premium-class" ZVC family the new LVC versions deliver 36 Watts in the 45-W
package [4.5cm x 9cm x 2.3cm] and 55 Watts in the 65-W package [4.5cm x 11cm x 2.9cm],
while still achieving high efficiencies of up to 80% (typical) for external power
supplies.
The converters offer a choice of standard outputs 12V, 15V, 19V, 24V and 48V and can be
easily and flexibly modified. With a universal input voltage range of 90-264VAC (Class 2),
IEC320-C8 connectivity and a ground leakage current of less than 250uA, the devices are
suitable for a wide range of applications including systems that require several power
supplies to be connected in parallel via an internal connector that in turn feeds a single
three-point plug connection. Standard features include operation with no minimum load
requirement, short circuit current limiting via the "hiccup" restart function
and overvoltage and overtemperature cutoff. The Indian production plant accommodates
custom requests for the output connector design, starting at orders of 2,000 units, with
connectors injection molded onto the converters prior to burn-in. The standard versions
ship with a right-angle, hollow 2.54mm x 5.49mm connector. The new EOS models conform to
the IT standard IEC950 Class 2 (SELV), and come with the following approvals: VDE, cUL,
QAS, PSE, C-Tick and CCC.
