VIDEO BALUN CONVERTER
FROM HAUFE!
HAUFE HAS EXPANDED ITS RANGE OF VIDEO TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF A
SPECIALIZED BALUN CONVERTER!
And what does balun stand for? It is an abbreviation referring to balanced and unbalanced
signals. The new product series is designed for use in cabling systems to serve as an
impedance and insulation converter. Usually, the goal behind using a balun converter is to
cancel the reflected RF wave inherent to unbalanced cables (i.e., coaxial) and thus to
prevent the associated pick-up and radiation of noise.

HAUFE's new ST8024 video balun module
was designed especially for use in video networks, where the device converts video signals
from unbalanced coaxial cables for transmission over balanced twisted pairs. This
significantly reduces cabling costs for CCTV systems, as it permits system designers to
optimally use existing wiring! The ST8024 measures a very compact 10.5mm x 8.5mm x 9mm
(LxWxH), thereby supporting miniaturization for such applications as video networks, hubs
and local video signal distribution systems that use installed twisted pair technology,
etc. The HAUFE video balun converter can also be configured for SMD applications upon
customer request.
