YAMAICHI ADVANCED MC
CONNECTOR LINEUP NOW COMPLETE
THE COMPLETE CN074 PRODUCT SERIES IS NOW AVAILABLE!
YAMAICHI Electronics has added an A+B+ version to the range, which means the entire CN074
series of high-speed connectors for advanced mezzanine cards is now available (B, B+, AB,
A+B+). Of course, all versions are RoHS compliant.
The PICMG's AMC specification defines a total of four different connector types and their
different configurations: 2 single-row connectors, the B and B+, and 2 two-row versions,
the AB and A+B+, offering 85-340 contact positions.

YAMAICHI now has all four versions in
series production. Even if the current market trend clearly points to the B+ type, much
will of course depend on the availability of the AMC modules. On request, YAMAICHI
Electronics also optionally provides custom designed solutions for the configurations A
and C+.
All connector types with data transmission rates up to 12.5Gbit/s are screwed onto the
carrier board using tried and tested "compression mount technology" (CMT).
CMT also enables all versions to be produced and processed in compliance with RoHS.
YAMAICHI Electronics has many decades of experience with CMT thanks to its market
leadership in test and burn-in sockets, for which this technology is also used. In order
to prevent PCB warping, which may be provoked by the connector's contact forces, the
connector is supplied with a "stiffener" that is also defined in the
specification.
microTCA-STANDARD
YAMAICHI Electronics also develops HF
backplane connectors (using the same reliable CMT technology) for the microTCA standard.
The latter was equally created within the PICMG and is an application in which the
AdvancedMC modules are plugged directly into the backplane.
