THE TINY, ULTRA-BRIGHT "FIREFLY"!
500MW POWER SMD LED FROM SEOUL SEMICONDUCTOR
Call it a glow worm, light button or firefly if you wish, but the tiny P9 is now part of the SEOUL SEMICONDUCTOR power LED range.
The new P9 series of 500mW SMD LEDs from SEOUL SEMICONDUCTOR measure a tiny 5mm (dia.) x 3.9mm (h) and target space-sensitive applications that demand high brightness. While chip and PLCC LEDs may be smaller, their maximum brightness is no match and several of them together frequently won't fit in the limited space provided.
Space constraints are certainly not a problem for the new P9 LED from SEOUL SEMICONDUCTOR. A choice of 2 different viewing angles is available, 140° and 25°, to suit either flood or spot lighting applications and the highly compact, round design with an outer diameter of only 5mm ensures that no space is wasted.

Requiring very little cooling area (depending on the specific ambient conditions), the P9 also makes it easier to configure cascades and arrays than with the larger 1W, 2.5W and 5W power LEDs.
The first available versions are pure white (type 6500K) and warm white (type 3000K), and other colors are planned. We have listed the key P9 parameters in the table below.
RoHS conformity and suitability for reflow soldering are, of course, assured, while the price of the P9 is far less than its 1W siblings.
