New, ultra-low profile tactile push-button switch featuring very clear tactile feedback targets a wide spectrum of miniaturized applications!
TYCO ELECTRONICS has expanded its ALCOSWITCH product line by adding a new, ultra-low profile tactile push-button switch with a surface-mount design (SMD). The new FSM series SMD switch measures a mere 0.5mm in height, with overall dimensions of only 4.8mm x 4.8mm x 0.55mm (L x W x H). Thanks to the short actuator travel, it is also very comfortable to operate.
The slim-line design and clear tactile feedback makes this optimized push-button switch well suited for use in miniaturized devices, e.g., mobile phones, radios, pagers, remote controls, computer mice, satellite receivers, mp3 players, etc.

The new SMD switch requires an actuation force of only 1.6N, and offers a minimum life expectancy of 500,000 cycles to go with an operating temperature range of -20C to +70C.
The new FSM 0.5mm slim-line tactile switch is packaged in tape and reel format and high volumes are available at short lead-times.
