FCI EXPANDS D-SUB PRODUCT LINE FOR REFLOW SOLDERING PROCESS!

FCI has expanded its reflow process-compatible D-Sub connector product line by introducing new pin-in-paste connectors.

The new THT connectors ideally suit applications like daughter cards where only a few components require wave soldering or press-fit technology. The expanded product line thus permits FCI customers to reduce their total applied cost by making more expensive wave-soldering or press-fit operations unnecessary.

The new pin-in-paste technology can provide a savings of up to 25 percent of the total application cost, since the use of automated pick-and-place methods eliminates the need for the manual placement of connectors. What's more, the reflow process provides higher quality soldering results than traditional wave soldering techniques, thus reducing control times and repair costs. With a less complex connector design than SMT connectors, the FCI pin-in-paste connector is the most price-competitive solution for a reflow process-compatible connector.

The pin-in-pin connectors are available now in a straight version with nine to 50 positions and are offered in a number of packages compatible with existing customer processes - manual positioning and automatic pick-and-place with vacuum nozzle or gripper.

Right angle versions will be offered by the end of the year.

The entire line of Delta D series pin-in-paste connectors is RoHS compatible (EU Directive 2002/95/EG).

Additional information on the new Delta D pin-in-paste connectors, including product specifications and customer drawings, are available on the FCI website:
