USB-B connector with additional locking clip and environmental protection to IP20 now also available!
Munich, June 2006 - YAMAICHI ELECTRONICS has taken this popular saying to heart and applied it to its industrial Y-ConUSB line of connectors. As a result, the IP20Lock USB-A connector introduced last year is now also available as a USB-B type.
The plug & play-capable Y-ConIP20Lock-10* connector is the smallest, most compact USB-A/B solution to offer IP20 protection and an additional locking clip. Thanks to its compact design, it fits into 19" rack-mounted systems.
With the ergonomic clip, the component offers an added locking feature that requires no tools, at the same time providing high vibration protection and a very secure connection.
This type of protected, high-speed USB connection is used in a variety of different industrial applications, both for service and main connections, and particularly in applications demanding high vibration protection, e.g., industrial PCs, traffic systems and machinery engineering.

The housing frame on the jack side is manufacturer independent and is compatible with all jack types. It is secured on the device with screws. Available versions include 1-way, 2-way, 4-way and, on request, 8-way designs.
Several different molded IP20 cable confections with the vibration-free locking clip are offered. The standard length of the specially modified industrial USB cable (with a PUR jacket) is 2 meters, and other lengths are available on request. All cables and cable assemblies guarantee a secure connection in rough environments and are thus suited for IP20 or IP67/68/69K industrial applications.
