FOUNDATION STONE LAID FOR CODICO´S NEW OFFICE BUILDING AND LOGISTICS CENTER!
Ceremony with the Austrian Chancellor, Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel!
CODICO continues to expand! In order to better accommodate future growth, and to further improve our logistics support to customers, a new CODICO office and partially automated logistics center are currently under construction on a 10,000-m² lot, not far from our present location in Perchtoldsdorf (near Vienna).
High-ranking politicians joined CODICO staff and management at the site for the foundation stone ceremony on September 29, 2006. CODICO was especially pleased and honored to have Austrian Federal Chancellor Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel actively participate in the ceremony, since he had to sacrifice time from his busy pre-election schedule. His words of praise for our company's commitment and long-term, strategic foresight were greatly appreciated, as was his recognition of the fact that small and medium sized companies - like the family owned and operated CODICO - form the backbone of the Austrian economy.
The second speaker of honor, Perchtoldsdorf Mayor Martin Shuster, took pleasure at announcing that this marks the third time since CODICO's inception that our headquarter facilities in Perchtoldsdorf have needed to be expanded, and he wished us all the best for the undertaking. Mayor Shuster also expressed his pride for having such an innovative company firmly settled in his town.
After the foundation stone document had been signed, the guests of honor, together with 4 representatives from the CODICO team and the company's owners, Sven and Karin Krumpel, placed items in the "time capsule." The latter was then sealed in concrete and it will eventually take its final position in an outside wall of the new office building. The blessings of the town's Protestant and Catholic priests completed the ceremony.
Snacks, drinks and great conversation were on the agenda after the formal festivities had been completed!

CODICO - Construction of Our New Office and Logistics Center
Concept
The dynamic logistics concept called for an equally dynamic building design meeting all the needs of a growing company like CODICO. The layout of the loading court was chosen to reduce the vehicle driving areas to an efficient minimum, thus leaving a maximum of space for planned green areas. The warehouse and office areas alike will have the capacity for future expansion as apart of a second construction phase. The warehouse will consist of a pallet warehouse (narrow-aisle, high-bay) and a small parts warehouse that uses two robots for the fully automated consignment of shipments. The ample space for goods receiving and issuing, as well as consigning, will enable us to reduce goods turnaround times. In addition, the various loading ramps offer weather protection while loading vehicles of all sizes.
