30W DC/DC CONVERTER OPERATES WITH CONVECTION COOLING ON A 39MM X 33MM FOOTPRINT

What's more, both series of galvanically isolated converters include integrated EMC shielding, while offering additional functionality that meets the needs of automation and measuring applications, as well as data and telecommunications systems. The devices are designed for automated SMD placement and can be optionally adapted for conventional THD mounting.
In addition to over and undervoltage cutoff and overload protection, other standard features of the product family include remote On/Off control, an alarm pin for controlling the operating status and the ability to operate the devices in parallel without additional decoupling diodes. The low-profile SFLS series furthermore permits control of ramp-ups during switch-on operations. The topology is based on a synchronous rectification design that achieves continuous efficiencies of 90% and 92%, respectively, when converting the rated 48VDC/60VDC (at user's option) or 24VDC to outputs ranging from 3.3VDC to 15VDC. At partial loading up to 20% of rated power, efficiency remains above 80%. The input with integrated protection operates in a 2:1 range (18VDC to 36VDC or 36VDC to 72VDC). With a compact footprint of 39mm x 33mm at an SMD height of only 4.4mm (SFLS) or 8.8mm (for the cased SFCS variants), these converters deliver an output of 30W under natural convection cooling (air rate < 2m/s). The ambient temperature range of -40°C to +70°C can be extended up to 85°C with a slight derating. An internal filter provides interference suppression according to CISPR "A", while the rated ripple and noise values range from 20mVpp to 40mVpp.
