FEEL SECURE WITH CODICO!
Security - be it in the home, in public spaces or within business and industry - is a concern today like never before. Effective video surveillance systems, including the technologies used for processing video signals and data streams, are certainly a key to providing it. Recognizing this market trend years ago, CODICO has since built up a formidable product range to meet security needs, and we wish to briefly introduce our lineup below.
Single and Multi-port Decoders from CONEXANT
CONEXANT is our chosen supplier for video chips that target the PC and security segments. Thanks to CONEXANT's years of experience in these fields, the company's solutions are ideally suited for today's multimedia and security applications. For example, by introducing a quad-channel, and the world's first 8-channel, video decoder with the ability to process two sources per channel, CONEXANT has further solidified its position as a technology leader. Because the chips support the individual and independent scaling of each video channel, customers can be assured of getting the highest possible flexibility for their designs.
Secure Data Storage Products from EXAR
Because digital surveillance videos need to be shared and securely stored, a distributed and redundant data storage system is a must - and EXAR's Port Selector and Port Multiplier product families provide high-performance solutions. EXAR's outstanding support for these systems also extends to the required SW, thus facilitating a short design cycle.
Gigabit Ethernet Switches from VITESSE
Video data is increasingly being sent via Ethernet networks. Whereas 10/100 Base-T networks were often used previously, performance demands are simply too high for these systems today. That's why VITESSE offers a wide range of solutions to replace or upgrade existing 10/100 Mbit networks. These highly integrated GbE and 10GbE chips are not only best in their class, but also the most cost effective. The product family consists of Ethernet Switches (5-port to 48-port), integrated PHYs and Media Access Controllers (MAC).

ASIX Embedded Network SoC ICs for Device Servers

Changing out all components of smaller, older installations brings few advantages, though such systems do benefit from the space savings provided by the latest digital processing and storage technology for video signals. Indeed, there are integrated network SoC products available to upgrade legacy device servers. ASIX's Embedded Network SoC product offering includes single-chip microcontrollers with integrated TCP/IP stack and a Fast Ethernet MAC/PHY. These chips and their accompanying software make it easy to implement an RS232-to-Ethernet converter. ASIX also supplies a complete reference design, together with all the required software.
Power Distribution Solutions from PHIHONG and SILVERTEL
The newest generation video cameras usually transfer data via Ethernet. However, when replacing an existing camera, its location frequently prevents installation of a new power supply, or at least makes this exceedingly difficult. The best solution is to use a combination of midspans, power injectors and current dividers from PHIHONG, and also Silvertel Power-over-Ethernet modules. In this manner, the supply voltage at the Ethernet distributor is modulated onto the data line downstream of the Ethernet switch using a midspan or single power injector. On the receive side, a power splitter is used to separate the supply voltage; or, if an external solution is not viable, SILVERTEL's integrated modules can be used for this task.
