PRCP: POLYMER RESETTABLE CIRCUIT PROTECTORS!
COPAL ELECTRONICS has expanded its quality range of products with the addition of the PRCP series!
Manufactured with polymer PTC (positive temperature coefficient), these thermistors are ideally suited to provide overcurrent protection for your circuits. Upon reaching a given current level, the thermistor resistance increases to prevent other components from being damaged or destroyed. Because the devices are polymer based, they switch into their high-ohm state significantly faster than do conventional PTC thermistors. The PRCP series thus acts almost like a thermoswitch, but without the disadvantage of mechanical contacting. As soon as the fault condition has been corrected, the PRCPs reset to their low-ohm state.
