ULTRA-FLAT 8-PIN SIM CARD HOLDER. THE LOWEST PROFIL DESIGN ON THE MARKET!
YAMAICHI is expanding its lineup of SIM card holders with the addition of the super-low profile FMS008-6000-0 featuring a height of only 1.5mm. The new component is equipped with a built-in switch mechanism and comfortable push/push locking system.
The card holder's one-of-a-kind height of 1.5mm - and otherwise compact dimensions of 18.70mm (width) x 29.90mm (depth) - make it a natural choice for space-limited designs in a host of different applications, such as GSM modules, mobile phones, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, PDA smart phones, personal smart-card devices and other portable equipment, etc. The SIM card is sometimes also referred to as a SMART or SAM (Secure Application Module) card.
The new card reader has eight pins instead of the conventional six contacts to date. The card reader can thus also be used for applications with extended safety functions.
The Yamaichi SIM card connector for SMT assembly to the upper side of the PCB (top mount) is fitted with the comfortable, tried and tested push/push insertion and defined ejection mechanism from Yamaichi. The coplanarity of contacts is specified and guaranteed to 0.08 mm, thus ensuring secure handling and mounting. The connector is delivered in tape & reel packaging for fully automated pick-and-place assembly.

The super-low profile FMS008-6000-0 will enter series production in the fall of 2007, while product drawings for adapting your PCB layout are available immediately!
