CODICO GLITTERS ANEW!
Statement: "We are now prepared to deliver the same top performance that we are known for in the design-in sector in the area of logistics as well! With an improved logistics service, our operations are more customer-friendly than ever." Sven Krumpel, CODICO CEO.
In order to accommodate the ongoing expansion of our business and improve our already top-notch logistics performance, CODICO decided it was time for a new office building and logistics center. Located in the vicinity of our former (also quite modern) facilities in Perchtoldsdorf, by Vienna, the new building stands on a 10,500 mē site and measures some 3,000 mē. The construction time was a mere 10 months, with DI Andreas Hawlik (from the firm aha) acting as the lead architect.
The office section of the new building comprises a generous reception, meeting and cafeteria area, as well as an open-plan office that stretches over two floors of approx. 600 mē each. The building is furthermore clad in 1,000 mē of glass, thus ensuring a pleasant working environment and the best possible use of daylight. Our goal was to provide our employees with a spacious, state-of-the-art working facility, and, judging by the enthusiastic response, we are glad to say it has been fully met. Of course, everyone is equally pleased by the many relaxation spaces and recreation areas - like the beach soccer and volleyball court outside the building.

At least as impressive are the changes built into the new warehouse and logistics facilities. We have improved - and, where possible, automated - nearly all workflows and procedures thanks to the use of electronic support systems, and this extends to all facets from goods received by CODICO through to the dispatching of orders, to include the receipt of shipments by customers.
The new warehouse is divided into a pallet warehouse (narrow-aisle, high-bay) with a capacity of 2,700 pallets and an automated small parts warehouse (or "AKL," in German) which features the "heart" of the new facility: two "robots" (automatic storage and retrieval vehicles) that support the fully automated consignment of shipments. The current capacity of the AKL is 7,200 trays and these can be further subdivided into as many as 12 sectors. As a result, the maximum time it takes to retrieve wares from the AKL for further processing by our warehouse employees is a mere 30 seconds! The ample space provided for receiving and issuing goods, as well as for consigning shipments, furthermore enables us to reduce stock turnaround times.
This investment not only underscores CODICO's commitment to the Austrian and Central European business arena, but also to our goal of continued success on an electronics distribution market that is increasingly dominated by larger players.
We look forward to welcoming you to our new building soon!
Sven Krumpel, CODICO CEO
