BXC: LONG LIFE ELKOS.
THE HIGH VOLTAGE SERIES BXA GETS A BIG BROTHER - THE BXC.
Have you ever lost power? The BXA sometimes suffers this problem in power supplies or
ballasts despite very high ripple ratings. For these cases RUBYCON has now added a big
brother to the range, the BXC. At the same time the BXA has undergone some fitness
training to extend its service life to 12,000 hours at a temperature of
105°C.

The new BXC, on the other hand, offers
a ripple current load capacity of 30-40% higher. Both models are available in the voltage
range of 160 V - 450 V. The capacity values extend from 1 µF to 220 µF depending on the
mains voltage used.
Which of the two should be used for which applications?
>If the current takes the ELKO to its limit and the inherent heat generation causes a
reduction in service life, the new BXC is the right choice for your application.
>If the current is lower, but the temperature higher, you will achieve a longer service
life with the BXA.
