The price advantage for customers is twofold: Glass packages are easier - and therefore less expensive - to manufacture than plastic packages, and PAN JIT now produces them in house.
PAN JIT's vacuum seal manufacturing technology puts the company a step up on competitors who use more conventional techniques. By packaging the silicon chips in glass under a vacuum, the finished diodes are completely free of dust particles.
After the merger, PAN JIT's production capacity for DO34, DO35 and DO41 types reached approximately 350 million pieces per month, with another 300 million pieces per month for MELF and MINIMELF packaged versions. By steadily expanding output capacity, PAN JIT is on track to becoming a leading player on the international discrete semiconductor market - particularly in the realm of glass packages.
