EYEMAX
SERIAL HIGH-SPEED I/O CONNECTORS.
FCI's EyeMax serial multi-channel I/O connector system assures data communications
at a speed of 2.5 Gbits per channel.
The new system helps eliminate time delays caused by data traffic congestion on parallel
PCI bus structures. The entire EyeMax product line supports differential pair
signaling and complies with new and emerging standards for high-speed serial I/O
architectures.
AVAILABLE PRODUCTS:
· (8-pair) and 12X (24-pair) EyeMax plug kits in latch and thumbscrew versions
· Receptacles for board mounting
· Complete cable confections
· Loopback adapters
· Test board kits

AIRMAX VS
THIS NEW FCI CONNECTOR SYSTEM PERMITS HIGH-SPEED DATA TRANSMISSION AND ULTRA-COMPACT BOARD
DESIGNS.
FCI's AirMax VSä backplane connector system enables data transmission rates beyond 12.5
Gb/s, and offers designers of high-speed computer and network systems a pin density of up
to 50 differential pairs, or 150 individual connections, per 25mm of board space.
The AirMax VS system is built around a plastic insert molded leadframe assembly (IMLA)
that supports both differential pair and single-ended signal lines. The "Virtual
shield" (VS) design makes interleaving shields obsolete, thereby minimizing impedance
mismatch and maximizing board layout design flexibility.
The AirMax VS connector is a metric standard inverse connector system with a
vertical receptacle for the backplane and a right angle (90°) header for the daughter
card. The initial AirMax VSä connector has ten independent IMLA columns spaced 2mm apart,
with 15 signal contacts per column, to provide a 150-pin configuration. FCI will offer a
120-pin configuration for a daughter card slot spacing of just 20mm in the near future.
The column differential pairs of the AirMax VS demonstrate very low insertion loss
and cross-talk. The new connector also features built-in scalability, which means that
existing systems designed to operate at speeds ranging from 2.5 Gb/s to 6.5 Gb/s can be
upgraded to operate at 12.5 Gb/s without redesigning the basic platform.
FCI's AirMax VSä system also includes a power module connector. The two basic versions
have a 1x2 and 2x2 pin configuration, with each delivering a current capacity of 80 Amps.
A third version provides secure alignment and keying, as well as ESD protection.
