The increasing need for ever higher data transfer speeds in military and aerospace
applications is driving the complexity of technology used in associated equipment to new
heights. To meet the unique needs of such high-speed data networks, SOURIAU offers fiber
optic solutions in addition to the company's copper-based solutions.

SOURIAU's ELIO fiber optic contacts
have a ceramic housing and spring-loaded contacting mechanism to operate in severe
environments, a design that specifically targets military and aerospace applications.
After assembly, the ELIO contacts can be installed in specialized round connector housings
(MIL-C-38999 standard), or via the ELIO 8 adapter in standard right-angle connectors
(ARINC), without the use of tools. The hermaphroditic (sexless) design, which uses only
one type of mating contact, makes ELIO connectors easy to install.
The connectors are securely sealed by the cable housing and grommet, and the bayonet
mechanism ensures twist-free mating of the connector contacts. The spring mechanism
guarantees a flawless optical connection between contacts.
ELIO connectors are ideally suited for marine, aerospace and railroad applications, and
for just about any other harsh-weather industrial use.
