For the most part, small-format displays are offered in portrait-mode versions only. WINTEK, however, has developed two new landscape displays to counter this trend. Both of the new TFTs – size 2.7” and 3.0” – use a 3.3V supply voltage and are equipped with a backlight that can be controlled either internally (via registers) or externally. Their surface brightness measures 250cd/m² (typical) and is achieved with only one LED in the 2.7” version and two LEDs in series in the 3.0” model. The displays are of the transmissive type and boast of a 150:1 minimum contrast ratio. And, with a depth of 2.65mm max., they are ideally suited for hand-held applications that need to be kept slim.
