ZARLINK’S CLOCKCENTER PLATFORM!
|
ZARLINK’s ClockCenter Platform delivers timing solutions for Optical Transport Network (OTN), Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and Free Run applications. To accommodate the ever-growing demand for video and mobile traffic, Carriers are forced to support multiple services over a single network, so they are deploying OTN that can transport a wide range of services such as storage, SONET/SDH, digital video, Ethernet and more. ZARLINK’s single-chip synchronous clock translators accept any input frequency from 1 Hz to 750 MHz and generate any output frequency from 1 Hz to 750 MHz with low jitter. ZARLINK offers single, dual and quad channel clock translators: These devices can also be used for SyncE line card applications for clock-rate translation from backplane to transmit PHY and for clock-rate translation from PHY receive clock to backplane. With the sub-ps jitter at the output, SyncE GE and 10GE PHYs can be driven directly: The DPLL used in the transmit side uses two synthesizers to generate XAUI clocks. The DPLL used on the receive side translates RCV clock to 19.44 MHz for the backplane. For the SyncE Central timing card applications that require Wander filtering and precision hold over, two devices are offered: ZARLINK provides full solutions for Network Timing: Free Run Silicon Clock Generation The flexibility and programmability of the clock generators allow designers to translate, generate and synthesize any output frequency required from a single fixed frequency oscillator, allowing to dramatically simplify your inventory and reduce the Bill of Materials (BOM) complexity. Now, a single oscillator part number and a single IC clock generator part number can satisfy any clocking requirement.
