I am Gerald Hoch and for two years I have worked as an applications engineer for power supply systems with CODICO in Munich. I was born 50 years ago into entirely secure surroundings. I was separated from “Bad Things” by a giant wall, behind which I grew up untroubled and protected from the temptations of the free Western world. Because territorial aspirations were only possible in an easterly direction, I chose Kiev as the scene for the conquests of my student days. Here I internalized the theory of relativity – compared with the Soviet Union, the GDR, East Germany, was almost a paradise. All things are indeed relative.
With my resolve thus steeled, and inspired by my girlfriend at the time, in the summer of 1989 I dared to jump the Wall to the West. After I had gained a foothold in the profession in Munich, I began to concern myself with what were for me entirely new philosophical questions. Is our future written in the stars? Do I too possess a soul? And is it somehow immortal? Is there rebirth? All useful contributions to resolving these questions gratefully received. ;-)
To safeguard the Western world from extinction, in the course of time my wife and I have donated a new body to five souls. And at the moment they are really keeping me on my toes.....
CODICO is a company where a person is not simply reduced to being a labor unit. I like working here, and I hope to be able to bring the benefit of my experience to the welfare of our clients and of our company for a long time to come.
