SPEEDTECH recently added a DisplayPort interface connector to its comprehensive range of interconnect products. DisplayPort is a digital, license-free interface standard for audio and video signals that has been put forth by VESA. Using simple adapters, DisplayPort also supports the operation of HDMI and DVI devices. Thus, the number of physical connections on the video output device can be reduced while maintaining the diversity of connection formats. Data rates of up to 10.8Gbits using four lanes are easily supported, as is the transmission of audio signals. SPEEDTECH currently offers the PCB sockets in THT and SMT versions – with additional versions to follow!
