FIRST 100 V DRIVER FROM MPS – THE MP4689

MPS has an LED driver in the form of the MP4689 which allows a very wide range of step-down configurations from an input voltage of 4.5V to 100V. These values mean that the driver is suitable for applications in automotive, industrial and general lighting environments. The internal high-side high-power MOSFET with a current limit of 2.5A (typical) supplies a constant current of up to 1A for the latest generation of high-power LEDs.
The proprietary feedback control of MPS minimizes the number of external components whilst at the same time providing a current accuracy of ± 3% (typical).

- No output capacitor required
- Hysteretic control mechanism – no compensation network required
- switching frequency up to 1MHz
- Dimming frequency up to 20kHz
- 200 mV reference voltage for high efficiency

The MP4689 is available in the SOIC-8 package with exposed pad.
