HiLo Starter is a free software tool available from CODICO. The tool supports software setup for the HiLo family of GSM modules from our supplier SAGEM. HiLo starter runs on a Windows PC and controls a connected demo or mini-eval board. The user can select the desired function – e.g., SMS – via pushbuttons and then enter parameters such as the SIM PIN, calling number and text to be sent. The SMS is sent via the push of a button, upon which all AT commands required for the professional execution of a given action are listed in a protocol window. The emphasis here is on “professional,” since literally all AT commands – from the general setup of the module and SIM-PIN transfer through to status polling for logging into the network – are reliably listed and executed.
On the one hand, this saves time during the search for AT commands in the manual and, on the other, it delivers valuable information for the proper execution of the desired functions and actions.
