HiLo3G – A NEW ADDITION TO THE FAMILIY

A new member has been added to the popular family of HiLo quad band GSM/GPRS modules from SAGEMCOM in the form of the HiLo3G, an M2M HSDPA module. This new device sets new standards in terms of design size, current consumption and sensitivity. The HiLo3G is one of the new generation of 3G modules and was designed to handle high volume applications for markets such as automotive, energy, payment terminals, health and security. The modules operate in two 3G bands and all four 2G bands ensuring excellent reception almost independently of the network conditions in the area of use. Furthermore the HiLo3G also complies with the higher quality requirements of the motor industry and will operate in a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Another special feature of the design is its compatibility with the popular HiLo GPRS modules which gives existing applications a simple migration path and allows new products to be designed on a scalable basis. With a base area of just 27 mm x 27 mm and a thickness of 4.8 mm, the new HiLo3G is probably the smallest commercial HSDPA module currently available on the market. But it is not just its size which sets new standards, its current consumption is probably also a record breaker at less than 1.7 mA logged on to the network and accessible by calling.
